What drives the price

7 Things That Change Your Cost

  • Size of the room — more floor and wall means more tile and labor.
  • Shower vs. tub — a large walk-in or curbless shower costs more than a tub-shower combo.
  • Tile — large-format porcelain and mosaics take more time than standard tile.
  • Moving plumbing — keeping the layout saves money; moving the toilet or drain adds cost.
  • Glass — frameless glass doors and panels cost more than framed doors.
  • Vanity and tops — stock vanities cost less than custom or floating double vanities.
  • What's behind the walls — old water damage or bad prior work has to be fixed first.

Saving money

Where to Save, Where Not To

Keep the toilet and drain where they are, choose a stock vanity, and use one feature tile instead of tiling every wall in a premium tile — these keep the cost down without making the bathroom look cheap.

Do not save on waterproofing. Several of our customers hired us to redo a bathroom done a year or two earlier by someone else because the shower was not waterproofed properly — that costs far more than doing it right the first time.

“Second time was the charm! We hired Lux based on their 5 star reviews to redo a bathroom renovation done about a year ago by another company. That contractor didn’t waterproof properly and also installed tile improperly. We had to totally gut and start over. We are 100% confident in the work this time around. Their work is impeccable!”

Diana F. · Bathroom redo

“What a pleasure it was dealing with Lux. Their installer (actually craftsman) was on time every morning and worked full days until the project was done. I cannot tell you how happy we are with the finished product! We would have no problems recommending them to ANYONE that is considering to do a remodel. We LOVE our new bathroom ❤️”
